This Privacy Policy describes how Wippit ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by 4vrLive LLC, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application, website at getawip.com, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account registration information: name, email address, phone number, and password
- Delivery address and saved addresses
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
- Driver applicant information: date of birth, home address, vehicle information, government-issued ID, insurance documents, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number or ITIN
- Communications you send us, including support requests
Information collected automatically:
- Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Location information: approximate location when you use the app, and precise GPS location when you are actively delivering an order as a driver
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, order history, and interaction patterns
- Log data: IP address, browser type, access times, and referring URLs
Information from third parties:
- If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address as shared by Apple
- Payment processors (Stripe) provide transaction confirmations and account status
- Background check providers (Checkr) provide screening results for driver applicants
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process and fulfill food delivery orders
- Connect customers, restaurants, and drivers
- Process payments and issue payouts to restaurant partners and drivers
- Verify driver identity and conduct background checks
- Send order status updates and push notifications
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations including IRS 1099-NEC tax reporting for drivers
- Improve and develop our Services
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Restaurants: We share your first name, delivery address, and order details with the restaurant fulfilling your order
- Drivers: We share your first name, delivery address, and order details with the driver assigned to your delivery. During active delivery, your driver's real-time location is visible to you in the app
- Stripe: Payment processing and Connect account management. Stripe's privacy policy applies to information shared with them
- Checkr: Driver applicant information for background screening purposes
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers.
4. Location Information
For customers, we use your location to show nearby restaurants and calculate delivery fees. We request approximate location while using the app.
For drivers, we require access to precise GPS location while actively delivering orders. This location is shared with the customer during active delivery so they can track their order. We do not track driver location when they are offline or not on an active delivery.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Order history is retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial recordkeeping requirements. Driver background check results are retained as required by applicable law.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@getawip.com. Some information may be retained after deletion as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission using TLS/SSL
- Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing — we never store plaintext passwords
- Payment information processed exclusively through Stripe — we never store card numbers
- SSN and ITIN data transmitted directly to Checkr and Stripe via encrypted channels — we never store full SSNs
- Access to personal data restricted to employees and contractors who need it to operate the Services
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your information using commercially reasonable measures.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your account
- Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Withdraw consent for location access through your device settings

8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at privacy@getawip.com and we will delete the information promptly.
9. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for order status updates, driver assignment, and delivery confirmation. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use the app, but you may miss important order updates.
10. Third-Party Links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by sending an email to your registered address or by displaying a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
12. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, disclose, or sell; the right to request deletion of your personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
